Formed to bring together the hearse owners in and around chicago. Anyone is welcome to participate and I will do my best to accomodate people. I visit multiple cemeteries in the area including my favorites which are Graceland Cemetary on Irving Park and Clark, and RoseHill located on Ravenswood and RoseHill.
Most hearses are one of the 4 main coachbuilders Superior, S&S, Eureka, and Miller Meteor.
The most desired years are from '57-'64 when the tailfins were the most dramatic.
I have found over the years that people generally want a hearse for $300. Remember you get what you pay for. Hearses sold for more when they were new, why would they sell for less now?
Be prepared for the worst once you do own one. My Eureka is vandaized often. It has had the windsheild and side glass broken, bottles thrown at me while driving, its been spray painted, its been keyed, mirrors broken off, antenna ripped off, licence plaes stolen, rocks/sticks/dirt in the gas tank, stolen the gas cap, stolen hubcaps, stolen fender skirts, hit from the side, and gum thrown on it...... plus the neighbors call the police on in if it sits in front of your house for more than a day.
I still love the car and would not have it any other way.
